Avicii wins Favourite EDM artist at the AMA’s

The EDM category that originally started in 2012, “Favourite Artist, Electronic Dance Music” which was first won by David Guetta at the time, this year went to the EDM powerhouse Avicii. This year’s nominees included Zedd, Avicii, Calvin Harris and Daft Punk. It was no surprise when Avicii won this category because the large amount fans that he has gained over the years and especially after he’s “True” album release this year. The fan favorite made sure_to thank his followers and celebrate the talents of_his fellow nominees via Twitter.With a grammy nomination for “Levels,” a #3 spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, and the chart topper “Wake Me Up,” Avicii has certainly had a great year. While EDM still represents a relatively small percentage of popular music, the biggest stars are definitely gaining recognition in the public eye.
