New Awards Show for Electronic Dance Music

Thanks to a partnership between festival producer Insomniac and Dick Clark Productions, Electronic Dance Music will have its own awards show starting some time in next year. The announcement was made at the EDMbiz Conference.Insomnia is responsible for producing several music festivals each year those including Electric Daisy Carnivals in New York, Chicago and London. Dick Clark Productions also does the Golden Globe Awards and the American Music Awards.

"Creating an award show focused on all the creative components that contribute to the success of dance music (music, art, production and lighting) has been a dream of mine for years," says Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac.

Due to Electronic Dance Music without a doubt being the fastest growing genre, it was about time that something like this came up to support the EDM industry as a whole. This celebration for EDM will be held in Las Vegas during the Electric Daisy Carnival week.
