Album Review: Reboot The Robot - Wellesbourne
Searching and searching for new talent and came across a real gem. He goes by the name of Reboot The Robot. An acoustic indie rock artist from Cheyenne, WY. Jon Ware, the talented guy behind Reboot The Robot has released 4 albums within 3 and a half years. Now a 5th is added to the list. Which will be released on 30th July 2013. Reboot The Robot is an independent artist. Have a lot of respect towards him for that. He's doing his own thing, his way, and he has been immensely successful. So about Wellesbourne. I sat for a while listening to this album over and over again, soaking in all of the goodness of each song. The album as a whole is absolutely beautiful. Firstly I'd like to say, Jon has such a rich vocal. Some of his vocal tones remind me a lot of Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and the execution and style of his singing is similar to John Mayer. Not surprising, as these artists have influenced his music.
His writing is phenomenal. I'm really impressed by the lyrics of the tracks. So deep and meaningful. Have to say that I felt very nostalgic. The opening track on the album I Wanna sets the tone of the album. Soothing guitar riffs, with a dash of grunge towards the chorus of the song, to give it some attitude. Making the message clear, "I really want you and I'm not holding back...." A tune that shows the meshing of different elements of rock music. The middle tracks of the album are more down tempo, acoustic tracks. Such pretty track, quiet mellow. Just sit back and remember all those good times, your first love, that sort of vibe. The later tracks of the album have a faster pace. Abit more punk rock elements included. Tunes like Strings and Keys, and By My Side. These tracks you can dance to and scream out loud singing along to. Some of my favourite songs of the album are: Prison and Prisoners. Everyone can relate to this song, as it deals with ups and downs of relationships. Great lyrics! I love Winter Drowning such a soothing tune. Its just Jon's amazing vocals and those heart-wrenching guitar chords.
Basically I think this is a great album. Jon Ware is an incredibly talented artist and you guys should support him. For every song there is something that you can relate to. He writes his music for people to connect with and you will feel this when you listen to it. I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this album. Its heart-warming for sure. If you like bands like Fall Out Boy, Lifehouse etc, you will love this album! Check it out!
