Tiësto says “Daft Punk’s latest album Random Access Memories doesn't deliver on the hype”

Electronic dance DJ Tiësto dissed Daft Punk and the band's latest album Random Access Memories. At the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas 2013, during a discussion about meeting the legendary music producer Giorgio Morodor and Morodor’s latest collaboration with the EDM duo Daft Punk. The discussion soon shifted to Daft Punk, Random Access Memories and their hit single Get Lucky. Tiësto being very honest mentioned the fact that the song “Get Lucky” is not as good as the big hype about it was."It got so much attention because it's so different and it's an attitude album," Tiësto said. "It's cool to like Daft Punk. Even if you're not into the song, as soon as you hear "Get Lucky'", you see all the cool people go, 'Oh yeah, this is cool, that's my song,' and they don't really even enjoy it."
"I'm destroying them now. Sorry Daft Punk," he added.
"It's Daft Punk and we want to believe the hype; we are cool people so we have to think this is cool."

Tiësto admitted that though he liked the duo's previous albums, such as the Homework LP, he wasn't a fan of Random Access Memories or the Tron Legacy soundtrack they produced.
"But because it's Daft Punk, and they're supposed to be cool and they had the amazing pyramid at Coachella a couple of years ago and the helmets--they're f---ing cool," he said. "But the music doesn't deliver on the hype so much."
