As we all know today House Music is a sub-genre of Electronic Dance Music that originated in the beautiful city of Chicago in the early 1980's. Ever since then the music genre soon spread to other major cities of America eventually spreading and developing internationally. House music takes its name from an old Chicago night club called The Warehouse, where the resident DJ, Frankie Knuckles, mixed old disco classics, new Eurobeat pop and synthesised beats into a frantic high- energy amalgamation of recycled soul.House Music possessed several characteristics of disco music but it was much more Electronic. House music is popular for having dance based characteristics provided by drum machine, off-beat, hi-hat cymbals and synthesized basslines. House music is sometimes characterised to release a Utopian sound where the church and dancefloor are thrown together as one.
As the years went by House music was soon played and listened to all over the world reaching many cultures therefore breaking into many sub-genres. During the development of the genre house music fused with many other genres forming even more sub-genres like Disco House, Electro House, Soulful House, Latin House, etc.Today house music is primarily known as one of the most diverse music genres ranging from soulful-and-deep to hardcore-and-electro house beats.
House music is also known for being one of the biggest sub-genres of Electronic Dance Music that is produced by world class DJ's all over the world. Many popular EDM DJ's like Afrojack, David Guetta, Tiesto, Avicii, R3hab, etc. experiment with House music.
The outstanding flow of House music is a relentless sound designed to take dancers to a new high, the music was primarily inspired by the love of the city (Chicago) and along with the dream that this music would spread messages of peace and unity throughout the world.
House music is still developing and growing and we are more than ready to see what the future holds for this more than just amazing music genre.
